Located mountain-top near the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Canada, this resort community proposes natural thermal & solar technology to provide a warmer, brighter year-round indoor/outdoor resort living experience.
Architecture is inspired by the striking west coast setting; dramatic cantilever decks that stagger and terrace like evergreen tree branches atop a rippled pond. Three midrise buildings are vertically-oriented to maximize outdoor resort ground space and take advantage of sweeping ocean views and southern sunlight. Concaved shaped towers use reflective guardrail systems to redirect additional light down and naturally brighten resort grounds.
Pool decks and amenity grounds are proposed in organic pcm-infused concrete to maintain a comfortable outdoor resort setting year-round. Natural geothermal heat warms cliff edge pools, while greenhouse pool cabanas make the retreat space functional and enjoyable in winter/shoulder climates.
Vertically-oriented units are configured to provide residents with a year-round indoor/outdoor resort living experience. Natural light apertures within the deck slab refract additional light into the suites and indoor amenity spaces; expansive, fully-appointed balconies feature sauna-pods, jacuzzi and linear fireplaces atop naturally warmed deck flooring. Sauna pods extend off the master suite bath and look out to dramatic mountain and water views.
