Mixed-Use
In a radical departure from the ‘cottage in the woods’ design approach of rural lifestyle community development, Capella minimizes disturbance to the natural landscape by concentrating the program into four high rise structures. Taking advantage of the excellent foundation conditions, the cantilevering spiral configuration maximizes the transparency of the structures, while capitalizing on magnificent views to Mount Baker on the US Mainland. Incorporating contemporary European wellness strategies, the development will include vineyards, a winery, and a restaurant set within a manicured landscape. The high density and low carbon footprint make this a prototype for a new form of environmentally responsible resort community development.
