Where The Adventure Has Already Begun... Principals Chris Doray and Arno Matis are graduates of the Bartlett School London, and Harvard Graduate School of Design – two of the architecture schools most noted for cultivating experimentation and creativity. Together they have more than 50 years experience designing and delivering an expansive scope of projects for a diverse range of clientele locally, nationally and around the world.
Both partners are former directors of Bing Thom Architects and played an active role in the design and development of landmark projects such as the Chan Centre and Sunset Community centre in Vancouver BC, Central city in Surrey BC, the Aberdeen Centre in Richmond BC and Arena Stage in Washington DC.
Throughout his career, Arno Matis has been a strong promoter of an integrated approach to sustainable design and he fosters a spirit of innovation in the use of materials and application of new technologies to this end. Armed with an MBA, the current acting president promotes the practise of architecture in its broadest sense from site acquisition to project completion, and from urban to interior design.
Chris Doray has worked with NBBJ Architects in Seattle WA, and with Wall Financial Corporation in Vancouver BC, where he was involved in the design of The Wall Centre and The Westin Grand Hotel. He has also participated as a speaker at international conferences, as a jurist and critic on international design competitions and is currently a faculty member at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver.
